The Los Angeles Rams are back in the win column after a convincing 35-21 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7. They snapped their two-game losing streak and improved to 3-4 on the season. The win was crucial, as another loss would have put their playoff hopes in serious jeopardy, although it is still too early to make any definitive predictions.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford and the offense delivered when it mattered most. The running back duo of Blake Corum and Kyren Williams made all the difference on the ground, while Stafford broke the franchise record for career touchdown passes.
Hall of Famer Michael Strahan believes the Rams are in a good spot, but need to be careful with their approach.
In Week 7, the San Francisco 49ers lost to the Atlanta Falcons, while the Arizona Cardinals fell to the Denver Broncos. These results helped the Rams climb from the bottom of the NFC West standings, moving them to third place in the division.
During Fox’s Week 7 recap, Rob Gronkowski and Strahan shared their thoughts on the Rams’ win and what the team needs to do moving forward.
“If you’re the Rams, you’re just hoping that you just keep it close, hang in there,” Strahan said on Sunday night.
“Keep it close. Get through the injuries. And today was a big win for them. This was a do-or-die win. They lose this game today, I think they’re completely out of it. But I think because of the San Francisco loss and Seattle having a tough contest tonight, the Rams are feeling pretty good about their chances to stay in there,” he added.
Gronkowski also credited the Rams’ running backs for their dominance on the ground. Corum and Williams combined for 33 carries and came close to breaching the 200-yard mark.
“This is the Rams that we expected to see from the beginning of the year. If they can continue this and keep it going, yes, they can turn around the season,” he said on the show.
Stafford also made headlines, throwing three touchdown passes to reach 155 in a Rams uniform, surpassing Roman Gabriel’s franchise record of 154. He finished 23-of-29 for 195 yards with an 82.2 PFN QB Impact Grade, good enough for sixth this week.
Although he threw an interception, his efficiency and the run game made all the difference.
The Rams are currently ranked No. 16 in PFN’s NFL Team Impact Rankings. Next up, they play the only winless team in the NFL, the 0-6 Los Angeles Chargers, in Week 8. The game is scheduled for a 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff at SoFi Stadium on November 1, 2026.
