Companies House has issued the warning to Velocity Capital (UK) Holdings, the sports investment arm of ALK Capital.
The warning has been issued due to non-submission of accounts, which were first due by December 31, 2024.
Velocity was also hit with a compulsory strike-off notice in February 2025 but the situation was resolved within a month.
“We are aware of the notice issued by Companies House and are taking the necessary steps to resolve the matter,” an ALK Capital spokesperson told The Lancashire Telegraph.
“Our company secretarial advisers are in direct contact with Companies House, and we are working closely with our external accountants and auditors to finalise the outstanding accounts.
“We expect to make the necessary filings in the coming weeks and remain fully committed to bringing our reporting obligations up to date as quickly as possible.”
The club has also been contacted for comment.
Burnley are currently searching for a new head coach to replace Nicky Hayen, who was sacked after the 4-1 defeat at Lincoln City over the weekend.
The Clarets find themselves in the relegation zone with one win from their opening 12 games in the Championship.
Burnley are back in action at Turf Moor on Saturday against Portsmouth and at the time of writing, there have been no announcements over who will be leading the team. Former CSKA Moscow boss Fabio Celestini has been linked with the vacant job.
Earlier this week, the club confirmed the appointment of Diego Lopez as its new chief football officer.
