This weekend, AC Milan will have to do without Fikayo Tomori, with the English defender suffering an injury against Bologna.
Although they have not helped themselves – with limited depth available to Ruben Amorim – Milan are in a defensive crisis reminiscent of the 2024/25 season. Indeed, the injuries at the back are constant and even back-ups are now struggling.
Tomori wasn’t considered a part of the team until the start of the season, being reintroduced in case of injury to any first-teamers. Now, though, he has fallen to the same crisis that has affected his teammates.
As MilanNews reports, Tomori will now be absent for a period after suffering a medial flexor muscle injury in his right thigh. Unfortunately, it seems it could be a while until he’s back for the Rossoneri, with a check-up scheduled in two weeks’ time.
Considering the work that he has done in recent weeks to recover his position in the squad, it’s a big setback for the Englishman. For Amorim, this is the case too; he is his only fit senior back-up, so this is a huge loss for the team.
The only positive to this is that the need for defensive reinforcements to arrive in January has been boosted even more. A bad time for a bad injury.
