The Eagles’ injury concerns continued Friday, with Jonathan Greenard absent after an apparent ankle setback and three important pass catchers still sidelined ahead of Monday night’s matchup against Dallas.
Greenard, listed as limited Thursday, did not practice Friday, according to Jeff McLane. McLane said the outside linebacker appeared to have suffered a setback, adding uncertainty to an edge group already dealing with several injuries. DeVonta Smith (hamstring), Dontayvion Wicks (ankle), Dallas Goedert (knee), Nolan Smith (concussion) and Michael Carter (abdomen) also remained out during the portion of practice available to reporters.
The receiving absences are particularly concerning for quarterback Tanner McKee. Smith caught seven passes for 75 yards and a touchdown against Carolina, while Goedert added six receptions for 61 yards. Wicks has 19 catches for 284 yards and a touchdown this season, with 16 receptions producing first downs.
Greenard’s availability remains important to a depleted pass rush. His ankle also bothered him against Carolina, increasing the workload for rookie Keyshawn James-Newby after Nolan Smith exited, coach Nick Sirianni explained earlier this week.
There were encouraging developments elsewhere. Willie Lampkin returned after missing Thursday with an illness, and Landon Dickerson opened individual drills ahead of Lampkin at left guard. That alignment is worth monitoring, though it doesn't confirm Dickerson’s activation or a starting assignment.
Saquon Barkley also was present after being listed as limited Thursday. Barkley has rushed for 182 yards on 36 carries, averaging 5.1 yards per attempt, and is working toward returning from a two-game absence. A.J. Epenesa, Jalyx Hunt, Drew Kendall, Moro Ojomo and Tyler Steen were participating in some capacity after being listed as limited Thursday.
Friday’s official report will establish participation levels. Philadelphia’s final game designations are still to come before its attempt to end a four-game losing streak.
