Norwich City are in free-fall, and if Philippe Clement can't find a solution to this disastrous run of form, then the writing could be on the wall for the Belgian, who must turn to one player in particular to dig him out of trouble.
After 11 Championship games, Norwich sit just above the relegation zone with three wins and eight defeats, with only Preston North End conceding more than their 21 goals and losing more games at this stage.
Clement, having rescued the Canaries from their dreadful run of form nearly 12 months ago following the dismissal of Liam Manning, faces a similar fate to his predecessor right now, as the former Monaco and Rangers boss must find a way to turn the tide at Carrow Road sooner rather than later.
Norwich have lost their last six games in all competitions, and as a result, have plummeted down the Championship table.
The Norfolk-based outfit have simply not been at the races as yet, and if this form continues for much longer, Clement may well lose his job just a year after he rescued them from an equally precarious situation.
Hitting the back of the net hadn't necessarily been a problem for the Canaries this season until the last few games, where one notable absence has seen their numbers in front of goal hit a brick wall.
Australian striker Mohamed Toure joined Norwich in January 2026 to replace the outgoing Josh Sargent, with Toure heading to East Anglia from Danish outfit Randers for an initial £2.6 million.
That very quickly looked to be a bargain, as the 22-year-old scored nine and assisted three in just 11 Championship games during the second half of the 2025/26 campaign, including two hat-tricks.

This form bled into this current season, with Toure hitting five in his first seven games of the year. However, Norwich's injury woes from last season, unfortunately for the Canaries, have carried into this campaign as well, as the Aussie sustained a shoulder injury in their 4-3 home defeat to Bolton Wanderers before the international break.
Clement confirmed that Toure would 'be out for months', creating a huge gap up top at Carrow Road, as one obvious candidate could step in to fill the void and save the Belgian's job.
In the absence of Toure, Mathias Kvistgaarden and Jovon Makama are the two other players that could step in to fill Toure's shoes, as Clement should put his faith in the latter to save his job.
Makama, 22, joined Norwich in the summer of 2025 from Lincoln City for around £1.2 million, scoring ten and assisting once in 28 Championship games last season, as only injury kept him from appearing more regularly during the second half of the campaign.
In what was his first season playing in the second tier, having only ever played in League One previously, Makama took to the Championship like a duck to water, and displayed that he is more than capable of spearheading an attack at this level.

Whilst Kvistgaarden will make his own claim for a place up top, Clement ought to put his faith in the Englishman, who has the potential to catch fire and save his job with a run of consistent games under his belt.

It's all of a sudden a race against time for Clement to turn the tide in East Anglia.
With Charlton Athletic, Watford, and Derby County in their next three, it's now or never for the Belgian, who must thrust Makama into the spotlight in a last-ditch attempt to save his Norwich job.
These next few fixtures will be crucial for his future at Carrow Road, and he needs a hero, which could well be Makama.
