Supporters leaving Ibrox Stadium following Rangers’ emphatic 4-0 victory over St Johnstone were advised that first-team players would not be stopping for traditional post-match photographs or autographs outside the ground.

Derek McInnes‘ side put on a stellar performance on the pitch, with Kevin Kelsy netting a fine brace alongside a breathtaking display from Minsu Kim to sweep aside the Perthshire outfit. However, off-pitch safety took priority immediately after the final whistle as weather conditions surrounding Glasgow deteriorated sharply.

Ahead of full-time, the official Rangers Supporter Liaison Officer (SLO) social media channel published an urgent advisory notice regarding post-match player interactions. The decision was taken in the interest of public safety as Storm Boelo brought worsening weather conditions, heavy rainfall, and severe wind gusts across the region.

Rangers SLO issues advisory statement to fans at Ibrox amid Storm Boelo

In a formal statement shared across official club communication channels, the Rangers FC SLO outlined the reasoning behind the temporary restriction, writing via X:

“Supporters are advised that, in the interests of everyone’s safety and wellbeing, players will not be stopping for photographs or autographs after today’s match. This is to allow supporters, players, and staff to leave the stadium promptly and travel home safely ahead of the worsening weather conditions expected this evening. We thank supporters for their understanding and cooperation.”

With severe travel disruptions expected across central Scotland throughout Saturday evening as Storm Boelo passes through, the measure ensured that supporters, stewarding personnel, and squad members could disperse safely without unnecessary delays outside the main entrance.

Despite the absence of customary post-match meet-and-greets outside Edmiston House, the Ibrox faithful headed home in high spirits following a dominant four-goal performance that keeps Rangers firmly on track in the Scottish Premiership.
