After missing the first seven games of the 2026-27 season due to injury, point guard Coby White is officially set to make his season debut Monday as the Charlotte Hornets host the Detroit Pistons. White's scoring will be a much-needed addition to Charlotte's rotation, as the Hornets currently rank dead last in offensive rating and are in the midst of a three-game losing streak.
Since he was acquired from the Chicago Bulls at last February's trade deadline, White has been a spark plug for the Hornets, averaging 15.6 points off the bench in 21 games following the deal. This season, White is expected to start for the Hornets, with veteran Dennis Schroder and rookie Christian Anderson Jr. backing him up.
White's last season as a full-time starter came during the 2024-25 season, where he started 73 games and averaged 20.4 points, 4.5 assists, 3.7 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 0.2 blocks.
