Early in the 2026 NFL season, no one has been a bigger national critic of Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward than Dan Orlovsky. He has criticized Ward’s accuracy, decision-making, and footwork.
Honestly, Orlovsky has been justified. Ward has struggled to get things rolling this season and has looked out of sync in the new Brian Daboll system; at times, his performance issues can be traced directly to his mechanics.
This week against the Cincinnati Bengals, something changed, and Ward put on a show, catching Orlovsky's attention, who pointed it out on social media.
Ward had a career day and answered questions after the Bengals game. Yes, it is one game in his second season, but for the first time he truly looked like a potential franchise quarterback. While he wasn’t perfect and still has room to grow, it was an outstanding start: he completed 26-of-40 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns, while adding seven carries for 41 yards.
Ward needed a game like this, and the Titans needed to see one just as bad. Now, heading into the bye week, Ward and the offense can self-scout and figure out what works and what will help Ward take that next step.
