At the end of the Denver Broncos' 28-24 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, a false start penalty backed the Chiefs up on the final play before defensive lineman Malcolm Roach brought down quarterback Patrick Mahomes to win the football game.
The so-called controversial false start penalty caused a firestorm from the visitors, with Andy Reid calling the penalty "one man's opinion," Mahomes saying the referees don't call the little things in big moments, and the QB's wife, Brittany Mahomes, calling it "the weakest call I have ever seen."
However, Natalie Bolles, the wife of Broncos All-Pro left tackle Garett Bolles, provided some perspective from the other side, while poking fun at her husband.
Another proponent for the flag was former Super Bowl champion AQ Shipley, who said there was a clear penalty on the Chiefs' tackle.
Garett, before his transformation into the All-Pro-type player he is now, was one of the most penalized players on the Broncos. Earlier in his career, Bolles was seemingly called for a penalty nearly every game and was a villain. However, he overcame his troubles and has become a pillar of the offensive line and the team.
Luckily for the Broncos and their fans, Kansas City was on the wrong end of a flag from the refs, and Denver would ultimately win Sunday's game.
Hopefully Denver can keep up the momentum coming off this win into Week 9 and beyond.
