Amen Thompson became the match-winner for the Houston Rockets against the San Antonio Spurs.
The Rockets were leading the game 112-110 with just five seconds on the clock at the Moody Center, but the Spurs were on the attack.
Victor Wembanyama was at the heart of it, but Thompson made an incredible block to deny the San Antonio forward, and that won the game for the Rockets.
One player, any era, dropped into today's team.
When Wembanyama picked up the ball, he probably thought he was going to level the score with what looked like a routine bucket for him.
That game would’ve been tied at 112-112 had he scored, with less than a second left on the clock.
However, Thompson pulled off the unthinkable and rose above Wembanyama to deny him. That saved the game for the Rockets.

After the win, Kevin Durant, who has seen a lot of great things in his career, was asked about Thompson’s incredible block.

He replied on NBA’s broadcast: “When Wemby caught the ball, I just thought he’d be a tall man and just try to rise over top.
“But Twin is just a freak athlete. It’s insane how he got up so quickly to block that shot against a 7’5’’ guy being 6’7’’. What a game-saving block!”
The Rockets are now 2-0 at the start of the new season, and that should give them a lot of confidence. Up next is a game against the Hawks at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
