Liverpool will hope to continue their impressive recent form when they resume Premier League hostilities this afternoon against Champions League final losers Arsenal. Andoni Iraola's side are looking for a six successive triumph in all competitions having eliminated Chelsea from the Carabao Cup in midweek.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last four matches against Arsenal and beat the Gunners in this fixture last season, and have lost only two of the last 14 meetings between the teams and haven't lost an home Premier League fixture against the visitors since 2012.

But how should the Reds line up for what is likely to be a difficult occasion? Our ECHO writers take a look...

This game might come too early for Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz to both start but it will be a considerable boost to have the pair in the squad for Sunday.

Ronald Araujo keeps his place in the team but shuffles over to right-back to welcome back Jeremy Jacquet into the side. I'm also recalling Milos Kerkez at left-back while Alisson Becker starts in goal.

In midfield, Ryan Gravenberch can be the number eight and Alexis Mac Allister is tasked with sitting deeper and breaking up play. Florian Wirtz starts after his second-half cameo against Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Up top, Alexander Isak is recalled, and Bradley Barcola and Cody Gakpo both start. They can swap wings as the game progresses, but I'll start Barcola on the right side to begin with.

My team (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Barcola, Wirtz, Gakpo; Isak.

Arsenal may be a team that only Arsenal fans could love, but that doesn't make them any less difficult an opponent. And it doesn't get any tougher than this for Liverpool.

What, then, is Reds boss Andoni Iraola to do?

It's back to the weekend team, which means Alisson Becker in goal, Ronald Araujo at right-back, Jeremy Jacquet and skipper Virgil van Dijk at centre-back and Milos Kerkez at left-back.

In midfield, though, there's a big call with it time for Trey Nyoni to make a first Premier League start alongside Alexis Mac Allister in the deeper positions, with Florian Wirtz the number 10.

And up top, Alexander Isak comes in down the middle, Bradley Barcola is on the right and Cody Gakpo can move to the left.

My team (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Nyoni; Barcola, Wirtz, Gakpo; Isak.

Liverpool will face their sternest test of the season so far when reigning Premier League champions Arsenal come to Anfield on Sunday.

Andoni Iraola will need his strongest available starting XI, filled with experience and fully fit players. So that automatically rules out Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz. The Basque might have suggested the pair could return against the Gunners, but they will have to make do with bench duty if they are back available.

Alisson Becker returns in goal with Milos Kerkez recalled at left-back, as Ronald Araujo, Jeremy Jacquet and Virgil van Dijk complete the first-choice back four.

In midfield, Ryan Gravenberch is given the opportunity to shake off a poor performance against Chelsea by retaining his place, with Alexis Mac Allister coming back in alongside him in the engine-room.

And it's going to be Liverpool's priciest attack tasked with finding a way past the Premier League's meanest defence.

The three £100m men all start in their favoured positions with Bradley Barcola on the left and Florian Wirtz at number 10 behind Alexander Isak, leaving Cody Gakpo to complete the Reds' attacking quartet.

My team (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Gakpo, Wirtz, Barcola; Isak.
