England captain Harry Kane accepts the Men's Ballon d'Or award during the 70th Ballon D'Or Ceremony at the London Palladium
Harry Kane has played down an immediate return to the Premier League in the aftermath of his Ballon d'Or win but did not appear to entirely rule out the possibility.
The 33-year-old England captain saw off competition from Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal to be crowned as the best player in the world on Monday night at the London Palladium. Kane became the first Englishman in 25 years to win the Ballon d'Or and it capped an amazing year in his career.
The Bayern Munich striker and Spurs' record goalscorer netted 73 goals in 65 games, helping his club to the Bundesliga and cup double. He also scored 14 goals in the Champions League as they reached the semi-finals and then went on to plunder six goals at the World Cup, leading England to the semi-finals. Kane already has 16 goals and nine assists so far in 16 games for club and country this season.
He left Spurs for Germany in the summer of 2023 after coming through the club's academy and hitting 280 goals for the north London side. He scored 213 times in the Premier League, leaving him 47 short of Alan Shearer's record.
In the aftermath of his Ballon d'Or moment, at the press conference following the ceremony, he was asked about returning to the Premier League once his time in Germany was done, with Tottenham supporters always talking about him coming back and the club said to have a matching rights if anyone made a bid for the striker.
"Not at the moment. Not right now. I'm loving life in Munich. Bayern are such a great club. We have an amazing team, great coach. So yeah, right now that's where my focus is and I'm extremely happy. And to be winning awards like this just shows why I made the move in the first place," he said.

"Of course there's always ambitions, there's always dreams for new achievements, new things. I still have a lot to achieve in this game, the Champions League from club level. To win a major trophy with England is number one priority for sure. So there's so many great things I want to achieve.
"And I've learned in a career, in life, you don't really have much of a say. You just have to go with the flow, see where it takes you, believe in what you're going to do, like I did making the move, and then just go full gas. Right now it's with Munich and we'll see where that takes me."
Kane had mentioned Spurs in his speech for everything that he experienced in north London to help him on his journey to this global accolade.
"I want to say thank you to Tottenham Hotspur as well. I wouldn't be where I am today without Tottenham, for sure," he said as he received his award.
"I was there since 11 years old. All the guidance, all the coaches, you allow me to live my dream. Without all those moments together... all the ups and downs along the way of that journey that has led me to this moment today.
"To all the Bayern Munich fans, England fans, Spurs fans, all of you around the world... the support you give me in the stadiums, around the world, wherever it may be, I appreciate it all. I remember being a fan not long ago, and what it means to play football. It was a dream of mine. So whenever I can give back to you guys is a real honour and a privilege to do so."
