Former Aldershot Town, Sandhurst Town, Bracknell Town and Fleet Town striker Mark Anderson discusses his favourite goal.
“I love scoring goals, it was brilliant and you know nothing beats that feeling of putting a ball in the back of the net and seeing your mates happy.
“That was my job and I was lucky that I had good people around me that made that sort of made that easy for me.
“Favourite goal, obviously my favourite first goal for Aldershot in front of the East Bank was special, big ground, big crowds, packed area, that’s a lovely feeling.
“But I think my ultimate favourite goal would be for Fleet Town, last game of the season, I think it was 2008, 2009 against Slough Town.
“We won 1-0, there was a ball over the top, it raced between me and the centre half and I saw the keeper off his line, it was right on the corner of the 18 yard box and I hit a lob volley over the top to win 1-0.
“Slough had brought quite a big crowd down, they were fighting to stay up and they’d missed the penalty, threw everything at us in the game but we held on to win 1-0.
“We finished second to Farnborough that year and went into the playoffs but the importance of that goal was more for Bracknell. I got a lot of messages that night from people like our good friend Duds and TC and a few others thanking me because it meant Slough were condemned to relegation and Bracknell stayed up.
“So for that reason, that would be my favourite goal.”
