ENNISKILLEN’s Robert Baloucoune has committed his future to Ulster after signing a contract extension until at least the summer of 2029.
The 29-year-old Ireland winger is coming off a career-defining year, having established himself as a key figure in Andy Farrell’s international side.
After making his Six Nations debut against Italy in February, Baloucoune made an immediate impact, scoring on his championship debut.
He backed it up by producing another try-scoring performance in Ireland’s record-breaking victory over England at Twickenham.
Impressive performer
Balocoune scored a third try in Ireland’s Triple Crown-clinching win over Scotland, finishing the championship with the 2026 BKT Rising Player award.
His performances marked a remarkable return to the international spotlight after injury had disrupted his progress, with the Ulster flyer making his first Ireland appearance since November 2022.
Baloucoune’s contribution was recognised by Ulster general manager Rory Best, who praised his importance to both province and country.
“We are delighted to have secured the futures of Rob, James and Joe,” said Best.
“Rob has showcased his importance to this Ulster team and the national team with his abilities and performances.
“He is a Test-level winger who has really benefited from a run of games over the past year.”
