Club ‘ready to move immediately’ for Manchester City player – Initial loan plan in place

Rayan Ait-Nouri’s move to Manchester City hasn’t worked out and a January exit could be on the cards.

The left-back joined from Wolves in 2025 but played less than 1000 minutes in the Premier League last season. Things haven’t changed in the ongoing campaign, as the Algerian is yet to play a single minute in the Premier League.

This came right after he played every game at the World Cup for Algeria, showing that he can make a mark at the highest level. At Wolves, he was also one of the most reliable left-backs in the English top-flight.

Sport Witness have tracked Juventus’ interest in the Manchester City man, who could be on his way out soon.

Juve growing desperate

Tuttomercatoweb’s Niccolo Ceccarini reports about Juve’s possible movements in the January transfer window. While they see a midfield signing as a priority, the addition of a left-back can also prove just as important.

Director Ricky Massara and CEO Giovanni Carnevali have taken stock of the situation. This has led to the club becoming firmly interested in Manchester City’s Ait-Nouri.

The Algerian is on the Bianconeri’s shortlist, as they look to take advantage of his situation at the Etihad Stadium.

In fact, the Old Lady are ‘ready to move immediately’ for the defender, especially if they see this as a transfer chance. Their intention is to execute an initial loan deal with an option to buy, with Manchester City’s stance over this yet to be ascertained.

Ait-Nouri is a target, with reports having previously noted his interest in a move too.

Our take: Too early to call

While Juve are laying down the foundations of a move, things are too early to call. The 25-year-old needs to play more and probably needs a transfer. But he could yet attract more interest from English clubs.

They would be able to offer Manchester City a more favourable deal, especially as Juve won’t offer guarantees over a permanent transfer.

Besides, moving to Italy in the middle of the season may not be the best idea. The left-back would require a period of adaptation and he may not get that time if he joins in January.
