Kembali
Former Tennessee football quarterback Joe Milton will replace Tanner McKee as starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, according to a report from ESPN on Nov. 4.
McKee, who's started and lost the last three games for Philadelphia, has been benched and Milton will make his first NFL start vs. the New York Giants on Nov. 8. He'll be the third different starter for Philadelphia this season.
The Eagles signed Milton from the Dallas Cowboys practice squad on Sept. 2. He was activated to Philadelphia's 53-man roster on Oct. 16 after it was announced starting QB Jalen Hurts would miss the rest of the season with superficial blood clots in both his lungs.
Milton had a strong preseason showing with Dallas and completed 29 of 43 passes for 378 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He lost a training camp competition for the backup job and was waived on Aug. 31, but was later added to the practice squad.
Milton, who played at Tennessee from 2021-23, was a sixth-round pick by the Patriots in 2024. He played his rookie season in New England before Dallas traded for him April 2025. In his long appearance for the Patriots, Milton completed 22 of 29 passes for 241 yards and a touchdown, along with a rushing touchdown. He completed 15 of 24 passes for 183 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in four appearances for Dallas in 2025.
Milton was the Orange Bowl MVP for Tennessee in 2022, and he started in 16 of his 29 appearances for the Vols. He passed for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and five interceptions and rushed for 505 yards and nine touchdowns.
