A Spanish footballer has died after an on-field collision during a second-division match yesterday.

Tenerife forward Jesús de Miguel was challenging for the ball in the 96th minute, when the Andorra goalkeeper charged out of his goal and crashed into him.

He later suffered a cardiac arrest and was resuscitated, but his condition deteriorated overnight. He was 30.
