The 21-year-old has started each of the Canaries’ last four Championship games in his more natural, deeper-lying midfield role, enjoying his first sustained spell in the starting XI since last December.
Wright feels the increased game time has helped him find his rhythm, although he knows there is still more to come.
“Yes, it’s been good. Since the start of the season, I think I’ve impacted games when I’ve been playing, but obviously, since the international break, I’ve had more of an opportunity to start some games,” he said at a half-term signing session.
“The results may not have gone as we’d have hoped or as I’d have hoped, but I’ve impacted games and scored goals. It’s not just about that, though; it’s about my overall performance.
“I think, gradually, with the sort of rhythm that maybe I haven’t had a massive amount of during the time I’ve been here, especially last season, it’s nice to get a run of games together.
“Hopefully, my performances can gradually get to the level that I know I can perform at.”
Wright’s growing influence is also reflected in his two goals and one assist in the league this season, and he’s keen to add to that tally.
“Yes, definitely. It would be nice to get one in a win and nice to get one at Carrow Road as well. It’s something I wish I’d done and hoped to do more of last season,” Wright admitted.
“It didn’t quite click for me, and I think it’s something I can definitely bring to the team: influence through goals and assists and just try to chip in and do my part where possible.”

At the end of last season, Philippe Clement challenged the young midfielder to improve his work off the ball, and Wright feels he has made progress in that area.
“Yes, definitely. I feel I’m in a good position physically as well. I’m able to compete now, whereas maybe I might have struggled before.
“Off the ball, I think I’ve got a lot better. Obviously, it’s about taking my qualities on the ball and trying to influence games, which I feel like I’m starting to do a lot more now.”
