The Seattle Seahawks have made life difficult for opposing quarterbacks through the first seven weeks of the 2026 NFL season.
Pro Football Focus has only given two signal-callers passing grades above 51 this season, being San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy (74.8) and Washington Commanders QB Marcus Mariota (64.8). Seattle’s defensive consistency has been sensational to begin the year, with only two quarterbacks having had performances that warranted anything other than subpar marks at the least.
The other quarterbacks that the Seahawks have faced this year include last season’s AP MVP-runner-up Drake Maye, who received a 50.7 passing grade, Jacoby Brissett at 46, Justin Herbert at 41.4, Bo Nix at 45.1 and Patrick Mahomes at 50.2.
The Seahawks most recently delivered a statement performance in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs, as they held Kansas City to three points scored in the win. Mahomes completed 19 of 33 passes for a season-low 165 yards and did not throw a touchdown pass in the game. Mahomes also threw an interception and finished with a 58.3 passer rating.
Maye, Herbert and Nix — three elite young quarterbacks in the league — also struggled against Seattle. Maye completed 23 of 33 passes for 178 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions. Herbert went 19 of 31 for 189 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions, while Nix completed 17 of 27 passes for 107 yards without a touchdown or interception.
Purdy proved to be the most successful quarterback by PFF grade, completing 19 of 29 passes for 189 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in San Francisco’s 32-29 victory over Seattle. Nevertheless, given the fact that the Seahawks have not allowed a single quarterback to throw for 200 or more yards in a game and have limited opposing quarterbacks’ completion rates, it’s safe to say that the defense has been superb thus far in 2026.
Seattle will look to carry its defensive momentum into the coming weeks, using its pressure and disruption against opposing offenses to strengthen its playoff push.
