The Atlanta Falcons will look to secure their fourth win this Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals in Madrid, Spain. After being shut out by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend, the Falcons' Week 9 matchup is a chance for them to stop the bleeding.
The Bengals seem unbeatable on paper, especially for an Atlanta team that couldn't stop the run or pass the ball with any success in Week 8. Nonetheless, you could have said the same thing about the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7, yet the Falcons somehow found a way to win that game.
If Atlanta is going to have any success, the team must get some pressure on Joe Burrow. Fortunately for the Falcons, James Pearce Jr. is set to make his season debut. Pearce is easily the best pass-rushing edge rusher on the roster, and his return at least gives the team a chance.
The Falcons are set to wear their new-look red uniforms on Sunday. As you can see below, the players will be wearing white pants, white gloves and black socks.
If the Falcons are going to pull off the upset, they will need quarterback Michael Penix Jr. to bounce back from a rough outing. Penix tossed a career-worst four interceptions in last week's loss to the Buccaneers. Considering the third-year QB won NFC Offensive Player of the Week roughly two weeks ago, it's not crazy to assume he'll play better.
The Bengals front seven is a serious threat, so Penix must stay cool under pressure and take care of the football. Atlanta also needs to make sure Bijan Robinson gets more quality touches.
If the passing game can get going early, it will open things up for Robinson, who should be a headache for Cincinnati's defense. Sunday's game starts at 9:30 a.m. ET on the NFL Network.
