Stamford Indoor Bowls Club round-up

Stamford’s senior bowlers leapt an impressive four places into third position in the Lincs Over 60s League (South) with a 98-53 demolition of title contenders Boston A, taking all of the 14 points at stake.

It followed a recent defeat at league leaders Grantham as Kevin Vinter’s team mobilised the forces at his disposal to dominate the fixture.

The previously untried rink of Mick Humphreys, Dave Oakey, John Holroyd and Paul Bailey took time to settle, but after trailing at eight ends, compiled 18 shots without reply to take the individual honours 30-15.
