The New York Knicks won their first game of the year, beating the Detroit Pistons 111-97 at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.
Jalen Brunson said that that team was focused on keeping things simple after starting the season 0-3.
"Just continue to hit singles," Brunson said. "Just get on base and hit singles and focus on little things until we get our rhythm."
Brunson finished with 23 points on 5-of-18 shooting. Karl-Anthony Towns lead all scorers with 27 points while adding 20 rebounds.
Coach Mike Brown credited the team's physicality in the win.
"We had more good moments in this game in totality than we did in the first three games, and that's why we got the win," Brown said. "Our awareness, our level of physicality on (Detroit's shooters) was a lot better than the previous game."
The Knicks outscored the Pistons 63-25 in the second and third quarters.
Brown added that the Knicks still have a ways to go before they're "fixed."
"Is it fixed? No. it ain't fixed. Nothing's really fixed. What tonight shows us is we're more than capable if we put our minds to it and that's what we got to continue to try to build off of," said Brown.
