NFL legend and Las Vegas Raiders minority owner Tom Brady is returning to Foxborough on Sunday as a member of the FOX broadcasting team.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion won't be running out of the New England Patriots' tunnel and down the sideline screaming "let's go" to hype up the crowd. He'll instead be in the booth calling the Week 9 game between the Patriots and Green Bay Packers.
During the call for the Week 8 matchup between the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings, Brady shared his early thoughts on the game. The former longtime Patriots quarterback claimed he is still getting ticket requests for the game, which he expects to be a "great time."
"I got a lot of ticket requests for that game. I'm not even playing anymore," Brady said. "I've got people flying in, I'm like, 'To see I'm just doing nothing. You guys just enjoy the game.'"
Not everyone will be happy to see Brady, despite the six Super Bowls he helped bring the Patriots during his legendary run with the team.
Some are convinced that he tipped off Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald ahead of the Super Bowl LX matchup with the Patriots. Macdonald said that wasn't the case after claiming that somebody with a "conflict of interest" helped the Seahawks.
"If you want to put two and two together here, Brady was in the process of hiring Klint Kubiak, who was the offensive coordinator of the Seahawks at the time, and it would behoove the Raiders for the Seahawks to win the Super Bowl because it makes their hire look better if Klint Kubiak is coming off of a Super Bowl championship," NFL insider Albert Breer said on 98.5 The Sports Hub. "And then, obviously, Brady had also just called the NFC title game. So Brady was in the booth for the Seahawks beating the Rams. So there was a level of communication there, too."...[Seahawks didn't need extra help beating the Patriots]. But there's also a level of institutional knowledge that Brady is going to have on Josh McDaniels' offense."
