The 15-year-old Renfrew schoolboy, better known as "Wee Sox", has been named among the 24 contestants who will test themselves against the world darts sensation in Netflix's upcoming live special Beat Luke Littler.
Lawrie heads into the competition with a glittering reputation already firmly established in the junior game. The teenager is a two-time Youth World Darts champion and currently sits as the WDF youth world No.1, marking him out as one of the sport's brightest prospects.
Now he faces the ultimate challenge when he steps onto the oche at Manchester Central on October 30, where amateur players will each get one shot at producing a perfect leg of 501 against Littler.
Despite his age, Lawrie is not short on confidence and believes he can eventually reach the very top of the sport.
He said: "I think I can be great. I think I can go on to be one of the best this sport has ever seen. I believe I can do it, but I just need to go out there and show the world what I've got."
Lawrie is one of the few players who already knows what it is like to share a stage with Littler. The pair have met before, and the Scot came agonisingly close to pulling off a shock victory.
He added: "I've played him once before. He beat me 3-2 and I missed match darts to beat him.
"I know what he's capable of. He's the best darts player in the world for a reason."
The youngster's nickname "Wee Sox" also comes with a family backstory. His grandfather gave him the moniker after noticing he hated wearing socks when he was growing up.
For Lawrie and the other 23 hopefuls, the task could not be simpler or more daunting. There are no second chances, no safety nets and no room for nerves.
If any contestant can defeat Littler with a flawless leg of 501, they will walk away with a staggering £501,000 prize. But the competition ends the instant somebody manages it.
For Rangers fan Lawrie, it represents a chance not only to land a huge payday, but to announce himself to a worldwide audience as the next Scottish star aiming to follow in Littler's footsteps.
