Left-back has become an increasingly big problem for Liverpool this season, as both Milos Kerkez and Kostas Tsimikas struggle for form.
An ongoing joke on social media states that when Kerkez plays, fans miss Tsimikas and when Tsimikas plays, supporters wish Kerkez was on the pitch instead. With neither looking ready to take on the mantle of Liverpool’s next permanent left-back, Andoni Iraola and Julian Ward have to be looking elsewhere instead.
Both Iraola and Ward may have been interested by the performance of Fenerbahce full-back Archie Brown on Wednesday, who scored the Turkish team’s equaliser before claiming an assist for the late winner. Brown would qualify as home-grown for Liverpool after coming through at Derby County, and according to TeamTALK, the Reds are looking into the possibility of signing the 24-year-old.

Alisson and Virgil van Dijk have made costly mistakes in recent weeks. What should Liverpool do with the pair now that their contracts are set to run out in the summer?
It was not only in the attacking phase which Brown excelled against Liverpool, he also did well in his battle with Victor Munoz, who is not an easy customer for any full-back to contend with.
His quality would reportedly not have been a surprise to Liverpool, however, with the Reds said to have been gathering information on the former Gent defender throughout the season so far.
Ward is reportedly making the signing of a new left-back a priority for 2027, and while Tsimikas looks set to depart on a free transfer at the expiry of his contract, it is claimed that Liverpool could also try and upgrade upon Kerkez with a new addition.
Brown, who joined Fenerbahce for around £7m from Gent in 2025, is said to be one of three players currently known to be on the Reds’ radar, but the left-back is also claimed to be in the sights of Man United, Chelsea, Newcastle, Everton and Brighton.
The other two players reportedly of interest to Liverpool are Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde, who could be available for a cut price in 2027, and Bournemouth’s Adrien Truffert, who has been excellent since replacing Kerkez at the Vitality Stadium in 2025.
Brown announced himself to a wider audience on Wednesday, and with the Englishman said to be keen on a return to his homeland after playing in Switzerland, Belgium and Turkey, he could be one to watch if Tsimikas, and in particular Kerkez, cannot push through their current slump.
