WWE SmackDown took place from the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California. Chelsea Green retained the WWE Women’s Championship, Blake Monroe defeated Giulia in a Street Fight, and Michin and B-Fab captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Randy Orton also agreed to face Cody Rhodes in a Last Man Standing Match at Crown Jewel.

Sami Zayn Confronted by Rey Fenix and Trick Williams

The show opened with a video recap of the confrontation between Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn and World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns from Raw.

Zayn entered alongside Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae. He acknowledged the hostile reaction from the crowd before reflecting on standing face-to-face with Reigns. Zayn said the alpha was not always the biggest member of a species but often the smartest. He pointed out that he remained the only Undisputed WWE Champion despite Kevin Owens, CM Punk, Finn Bálor and GUNTHER pursuing him.

Rey Fenix interrupted and said he did not know whether PENTA would cash in his Money in the Bank contract on Zayn or Reigns. Fenix said he had never had a problem with Zayn, but warned that any problem involving his brother also involved him. Gargano became angry, but Zayn calmed him down and said he had always respected Fenix. Zayn claimed his problem was with people who continuously disrespected him.

Trick Williams then entered and accused Zayn of lying about him the previous week. Trick said he felt no fear when looking at Zayn and insisted he was in WWE to thrive rather than merely survive. Trick compared Zayn to Timon and himself to Simba from The Lion King. He called himself a veteran champion and described Zayn as a rookie before demanding an Undisputed WWE Championship match. Zayn said Trick should fear him because he could expose every weakness in his game. However, Zayn declined the challenge and predicted the fans would eventually realize Trick did not have what it took.

Trick clarified that he was not asking for a championship opportunity but demanding one. He threatened to beat the title match out of Zayn. Trick attempted to chokeslam Gargano, but Zayn knocked him down. Zayn, Gargano and LeRae retreated when Fenix joined the confrontation.

Nick Aldis appeared and scheduled Zayn and Gargano against Williams and Fenix for later in the show.

WWE Women’s Championship
Chelsea Green vs. Roxanne Perez

Green and Perez exchanged early pinning attempts before Green connected with an open-palm strike and Rough Ryder.

Green followed Perez outside with a dive through the ropes. Perez attempted to create distance but was repeatedly returned to the ring. Perez eventually delivered a shotgun dropkick to Green’s knee, sending the champion face-first into the ring post. She then trapped Green’s left arm in the turnbuckles and stomped on it.

During the commercial break, Raquel Rodriguez pushed Green from the top rope while Perez distracted the referee. Perez attempted to capitalize, but Iyo Sky entered and attacked Rodriguez. Sky kicked Rodriguez from the apron and delivered a hurricanrana.

Perez took Sky out with a dive through the middle rope before returning to Green. She kicked Green in the midsection, but the champion responded with the Unprettier.

Liv Morgan attacked Green from behind after the match. Sky took Morgan down and fought Rodriguez, but Perez attacked Sky as The Judgment Day overwhelmed both women. Tiffany Stratton rushed to the ring and sent Perez outside. She delivered a knee to Morgan and a hurricanrana to Rodriguez before Sky connected with a missile dropkick.

Stratton considered cashing in her Money in the Bank contract and struck Morgan with the briefcase. Rodriguez and Perez pulled Morgan from the ring before the cash-in could occur.

Street Fight
Giulia vs. Blake Monroe

Giulia met Monroe at the bottom of the entrance ramp, where their fight immediately began.

Monroe retrieved a kendo stick and struck Giulia across the midsection and back. Monroe climbed onto the barricade, but Giulia tripped her and sent her into the timekeeper’s area. Giulia returned Monroe to the ring before retrieving a kendo stick of her own. She then threw Monroe into a pile of chairs outside.

Following the commercial break, Monroe sent Giulia into the video screen before their fight continued backstage. Monroe stopped to admire herself in a mirror, allowing Giulia to send her crashing through it. Giulia dragged Monroe back to ringside and delivered a missile dropkick from the top rope. Monroe sprayed Giulia with a fire extinguisher while Giulia stood on the ring steps.

Monroe then superplexed Giulia from the steps onto a pile of chairs. She returned Giulia to the ring and delivered the Neutralizer.

Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes Agree to a Last Man Standing Match

Randy Orton entered the ring and said he was proud of Cody Rhodes for proving that he could Punt someone in the head.

Orton claimed he was the only person capable of making Rhodes crack. He said Rhodes could attack everyone else in WWE, but it would mean nothing until he proved he could do the same to Orton. Orton recalled staring down legends and mentors throughout his 25-year career before kicking them in the head without remorse. He predicted Rhodes would hesitate again when presented with another opportunity.

Rhodes interrupted, but Nick Aldis and several officials attempted to prevent him from entering the ring. Rhodes ignored them and asked when Orton had become a coward. He noted that Orton remained the only active wrestler capable of breaking John Cena’s World Championship record.

Rhodes said Orton had destroyed many things throughout his career, sometimes to his own detriment. He called himself the killer of “The Legend Killer” and said the three most dangerous letters for Orton were now “IOU,” not “RKO.”

Officials entered before the situation became physical. Orton refused to face Rhodes that evening, so Aldis made their match official for Crown Jewel. Rhodes requested that it be contested under Last Man Standing rules, and Orton accepted. Orton warned Rhodes that he had asked for what was coming before leaving the ring.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley vs. Michin and B-Fab

Alexa Bliss and B-Fab started the match. Bliss jumped onto B-Fab’s back, but B-Fab fought her off before Paxley entered. Paxley sent Michin from the ring and connected with a standing moonsault from the apron.

Following the commercial break, Bliss tagged in and attacked B-Fab. She delivered a DDT, back elbow and diving crossbody from the top rope. Paxley and Michin entered. Paxley climbed the turnbuckles, but Michin avoided the attack and fought her off while holding the middle rope. As Michin distracted the referee, Jade Cargill struck Paxley with a forearm from outside.

Michin capitalized with the Styles Clash to capture the championship.

MFT and Bakusai Brawl

MFT headed to the ring before Bakusai appeared. Shinsuke Nakamura stood on the entrance ramp while Kyoki stole Haku’s staff and ran away with it. MFT and Bakusai began fighting on the ramp until officials separated all four men.

CM Punk and Kevin Owens Match Announced

Nick Aldis announced via video that CM Punk and Kevin Owens would meet in two weeks in Brooklyn, New York. Both men joined Aldis, who gave them the opportunity to address their rivalry.

Punk described the discussion as a waste of time but blamed Owens for costing him the Undisputed WWE Championship. Owens argued Punk would not have been facing Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel regardless. He said he should have become champion and blamed Punk for preventing it. Owens said he had been content ignoring Punk during his absence from WWE but later realized that interacting with Punk was what made him miserable. Punk argued that Owens did not know him. Owens responded that he knew enough people who had dealt with Punk to understand who he was.

Sami Zayn and Johnny Gargano vs. Trick Williams and Rey Fenix

Johnny Gargano and Trick Williams began the match. Trick immediately dropped Gargano with a shoulder tackle before Zayn tagged himself in.

Ricky Saints suddenly pulled Fenix from the apron and attacked him with repeated stomps. With Fenix incapacitated, Zayn and Gargano double-teamed Trick in the corner. PENTA rushed to the ring to help Trick and Fenix. He then challenged Zayn, Gargano and Saints to an immediate six-man tag team match.

Result: Match Thrown Out Following Ricky Saints’ Interference

Sami Zayn, Johnny Gargano and Ricky Saints vs. PENTA, Trick Williams and Rey Fenix

Zayn sent Fenix chest-first into the opposite turnbuckles before delivering a sit-out powerbomb for a two-count. Gargano tagged in, but Fenix caught him with a spinning kick and reached PENTA. Gargano stomped PENTA in the corner before PENTA answered with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, Sling Blade and modified Bronco Buster. Fenix then delivered a top-rope splash onto Saints outside the ring.

PENTA connected with the PENTA Driver on Gargano, but Gargano kicked out and tagged Zayn. Trick entered and attacked Zayn with right hands, a knee strike, clothesline and the Trick Shot. Saints, who had made a blind tag, attempted to steal the match with a rollup. Trick kicked out and delivered the Book End to secure the victory.
