The stewards were quite busy on the first day of the Mexico City Grand Prix. Alongside investigating the incident involving Max Verstappen and Liam Lawson, they also handed out several fines.
Audi committed various infringements on the first day of the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend. In FP1, the German team sent British talent Freddie Slater out on track with a fan still attached to the intake of the right radiator.
According to the stewards, there was a possibility that a fan could have fallen off the car, although that did not happen. As a result, the team received a €7,500 fine, similar to the penalty Mercedes received at the Australian Grand Prix earlier this season.
Audi then received another fine of €5,000 for covering components in FP2 while working on Gabriel Bortoleto's car. "The floor of Car 5 was transported by team personnel from one side of the garage to the other whilst covered by a large sheet. In addition, team personnel obstructed the view of Car 5 using another sheet while mechanics were working underneath the car," the stewards' report wrote.

Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso sped in the pit lane twice on Friday in Mexico City.
The pit lane speed limit is set at 80 kilometres per hour. In FP1, he exceeded it by 0.2 km/h. For that incident, Aston Martin was handed a fine of €100.
In FP2, Alonso once again exceeded the limit, this time by 0.1 kilometres per hour. This resulted in another €100 fine for Aston Martin.
The stewards already have their first task ahead of them on Saturday at the Mexico City Grand Prix. A video has emerged showing Red Bull Racing's Isack Hadjar pushing a fan. As a result, the Frenchman has been summoned to appear before the stewards over alleged misconduct.
He will have to go to the stewards at 10:15 local time (16:15 UK time).
