Arsenal handed double boost as defender spotted in training after Mikel Arteta update
Mikel Arteta press conference after Liverpool 0-1 Arsenal

Ezri Konsa took part in Arsenal training ahead of the Premier League clash against Hull, with injury fears allayed after also being named in the England squad.

Konsa had emerged as a doubt for Saturday’s game at the Emirates Stadium after being forced off against Slavia Prague earlier in the week with “some issues”, as revealed by Gunners manager Mikel Arteta.

In the first half of the Champions League tie, Konsa was seen feeling his knee and it was decided no risks would be taken with the summer signing from Aston Villa as he made way for Cristhian Mosquera just after the hour mark.

"Obviously he's playing a lot," Arteta said. "He's played so many games in the last few weeks. He had some issues and we decided to take him off."

There were encouraging signs regarding Konsa’s fitness upon being called into Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the Nations League double-header against Croatia and Spain later this month.

Furthermore, the defender was spotted in Friday’s training session which suggests he will be available for selection as Arsenal look to beat Hull and maintain their three-point lead at the Premier League summit heading into the international break.

Arteta will provide a further update on Konsa in the pre-match press conference, though it would appear the Gunners boss has a near fully-fit squad to choose from.

William Saliba also trained as he pushes to make his first appearance of the season having made a full recovery from a back injury that curtailed his World Cup with France in the summer.

"He's in a really good place," Arteta said on Tuesday. "The process and the timings and the manner that the injury has been dealt with, especially the feelings that Willy has been having along the way, they have been very, very positive.

"His evolution has been as expected, which is not always the case. He feels really comfortable.

"He played 45 minutes behind closed doors last week. He feels ready to go. Whether we use him or not now is a matter of what the team needs."
