The Deeside team picked up a 2-1 win from their trip to Leeds Knights, continuing the theme of close encounters between the two rivals.
The two teams had played out a nail-biting 3-3 draw at Deeside just a few weeks earlier and this game was just as close.
Demonstrating how well-matched these teams are, both line-ups produced 18 shots on target during their latest meeting and there was so little to choose between the sides over the course of the entire game.
The first period played out goalless and the next period looked like having the same outcome. However, with just 54 seconds left to play before the next break, Leeds eventually broke the deadlock.
The clock ticked ominously down but, with just three minutes left to play, England international Hallie Morgan equalised for the Dragons girls.
Then, just 23 seconds later, Savannah Morgan – Hallie’s younger sister - fired in a long shot from the blue line to put the Dragons ahead. After this quick burst, Deeside managed to hold on for a brilliant win.
The result sees the Dragons girls occupying a comfortable mid-table position in the U16 North league at this early stage of the season, with two wins and one draw from their first three games.
