Steelers' Aaron Rodgers rips Buccaneers' home stadium after win

Aaron Rodgers isn't a fan of Raymond James Stadium.

The 42-year-old quarterback won his final appearance in the stadium, leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to a comeback 26-19 victory in overtime over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, the four-time MVP -- who has played numerous times in the stadium -- isn't a fan of the field's surface, citing that it causes injuries.

“It’s got to be one of the worst surfaces in the league – and we’re talking about player safety,” Rodgers said after the game. “I’m very thankful to not get hurt. I’ve gotten hurt twice on this field. In my opinion, because of the turf, I know [the University of South Florida] plays here, I believe. But that surface, I don’t think is very safe.”

Rodgers didn't suffer an injury during this recent game, but he's referencing two injuries he suffered prior at Raymond James Stadium. He's referring to a 2008 right shoulder injury and a 2014 calf muscle injury, both as a member of the Green Bay Packers.

The veteran quarterback's main knock with the field -- it does feature natural grass -- appears to be the fact that the Buccaneers share the stadium with the USF Bulls. The Bulls will often play home games on the Saturday before Tampa Bay hosts their games the next day on Sunday.

Although Rodgers isn't a fan of the playing surface, he had a solid game against the Buccaneers, posting two touchdowns against one interception with 253 passing yards. It ended his three-game streak of three touchdown passes, but the Steelers won, pushing their record to 4-2.

The veteran quarterback announced before the season that this would be his final year in the NFL, ending a 22-season career. Rodgers will end his career with a 3-4 record at Raymond James Stadium, and his final game will be arguably his most memorable.

Meanwhile, the Buccaneers will look to bounce back and keep their faint playoff hopes alive when they play the Carolina Panthers in Week 7.
