Over a month after firing Michael Alford, the Florida State Seminoles have hired a search firm to lead the search for their next head coach of the football program and athletic director. University president Richard McCullough announced on Sunday that they have hired Daniel Parker of Parker Executive Search to lead both searches; he told Liam Rooney of the Tallahassee Democrat.
"We hired Daniel Parker, Parker Associates, to run our AD search. We literally made that decision based on Friday. He's already begun on the AD search. He will also do the coach search as well. So we are going to be running those simultaneously," McCollugh said. "It's complicated, but we're already on it."
Parker is listed as their vice president & managing director, a position he has held since 2011. According to his bio on their website, he has "led over 200 collegiate athletic director searches, basketball, baseball, and football head coach searches, conference commissioner searches and searches for the USOC and other professional sports organizations."
McCullough is set to receive regular updates from the search firm, and interim athletic director Bruce Warwick will be part of the decision-making process for the next head coaching hire, according to Rooney.
Some of the recent head coach searches that Parker Executives Search have assisted on include the Memphis Tigers hiring Charles Huff, Arkansas Razorbacks hiring Ryan Silverfield, New Mexico Lobos hiring Jason Eck, Boston College Eagles hiring Bill O'Brien, and Duke Blue Devils hiring Manny Diaz.
