The Chargers were coming off their bye week to prepare for their contest against the Los Angeles Rams.
However, even with a week off and plenty of time to deliberate, the Chargers looked as bad as they have all season this past Sunday.
The Chargers failed to score a touchdown, with their last one coming on Oct. 11 in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos in the third quarter.
The Bolts can’t catch a break on and off the field. Heading into Week 9, the Chargers are still getting heat from their game against the Rams.
Rams safety Quentin Lake even took a shot at Justin Herbert. Lake said the Rams defense knew they'd get at least one interception, given how poorly Herbert is playing.
“I mean, he was throwing deli meat out there,” Lake said. "He’s seeing ghosts, I’m not gonna lie.
Lake continued: “I don’t know what’s going on. We knew we were gonna get a couple [interceptions]. At least one.”
Herbert threw two interceptions in the contest against the Rams, with Lake forcing the first. His total is now up to 10 for the season, the most in the NFL.
Although the offense wasn't up to par (again) and Herbert's overall play was shoddy, he did throw for a season-high 257 yards. Herbert was also sacked a season-low two times against the Rams.
Still, the Rams had more points than the Chargers and took advantage of the poor decisions they made throughout the contest.
The Chargers will look to seek their first win of the season when they host the Houston Texans in Week 9.
