Delhi cricket team captain Ayush Badoni has created history in the Ranji Trophy with his incredible batting performance in the ongoing 2026-27 season. Ayush Badoni smashed his second consecutive double century in first-class cricket during Delhi’s third-round match against Jharkhand in Ranchi on Tuesday, October 27, in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2026-27.
With this, the 26-year-old batter has equalled a rare world record and joined some of the biggest names in Indian cricket. Badoni has become only the third batter from Delhi to score double centuries in two consecutive First-Class innings. Earlier, Devdutt Padikkal revealed an illness that nearly ended his career.
The young skipper has joined former India captain Virat Kohli and current head coach Gautam Gambhir, who have smashed his second back-to-back double centuries in First-Class cricket. Overall, Badoni is the 21st Indian batter to achieve this remarkable feat in the Ranji Trophy.
