The Saint John's High football team, again, disrupted status quo.
The Pioneers' marquee 34-7 victory over Catholic Memorial stirred the top tier of this week's Super 25 Massachusetts high school football rankings. It marks the team's second favorable result against a top 5 team this season (42-22 win vs. Xaverian on Oct. 9).
Elsewhere: Milton towered over previously-ranked Franklin. Tewksbury and Wachusett boasted respective 40- and 38-point shutouts. Central Catholic, Scituate, King Philip and Mansfield kept stride.
Teams will conclude regular-season play this weekend. MIAA Division 1-8 state tournament brackets will release in the days following Week 8 games.
Jason Snow (The Patriot Ledger), Tim Whelan (USA Today Co., New England) and Chris McDaniel (USA Today Co., New England) collectively rank the top MIAA football teams every week this season.
