Bayern Munich faced Arsenal at home in the UEFA Champions League group stage. The Bavarians, who were expecting the worst, were actually handed a pretty favourable game that could have gone their way. A win was possible, but in the end, a draw is still satisfactory. The game featured goals from Alphonso Davies and Harry Kane from the Bayern end, and from Eberechi Eze and Declan Rice on the Arsenal side.
The game was sure to be a blockbuster and it comes as no surprise that the stadium was packed. Amongst the fans in attendance was a surprise figure.
Former Bayern and German national team manager Julian Nagelsmann was spotted with his partner Lena Wurzenberger in the stands. It comes as no surprise that Nagelsmann attended the game — the whole of Germany was watching this game (probably even the Leipzig fans.)
The 39-year-old, following his Germany stint has been on the lookout and attracted the attention of Manchester United. It is believed that the Red Devils were looking for Michael Carrick’s replacement in view of poor performances this year. Carrick, as interim manager had brought excellent results last year, but in this year, has managed only two wins in all competitions from a total of 11 games.
If Nagelsmann gets the United job, this may be the last we see of him at Bayern games.
