Julian Nagelsmann remains a target for Manchester United as Michael Carrick is under constant pressure at the Premier League side after a disastrous start to the season.
Manchester United have gone without a win in their last nine matches, losing six of them. The three draws were in the league against Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United.
The Red Devils have only one win in the league and one more in the Champions League, and Brighton & Hove Albion knocked them out of the EFL Cup.
The Old Trafford club have seven points after nine league matches. This sees them 17th in the table, level on points with 18th placed Crystal Palace.
Michael Carrick’s job is clearly under threat despite the manager stating otherwise. The UK press reports the English club plan to make managerial changes in the November international break.

Julian Nagelsmann, who has been without a job since leaving the German national team in July, remains a target. Last week, Sport Witness covered a report from Germany explaining that RB Leipzig and Fenerbahçe are also looking at him.
Sky Deutschland now states the 39-year-old is on the list to become Carrick’s successor. There have been reports linking him to Turkish and Italian clubs, and he’s ruled out these two leagues.
Football expert Marcel Reif addresses recent talk about Julian Nagelsmann to Manchester United for Tuesday’s edition of Bild.
“If he doesn’t have the nerve to do it, I won’t know what to make of the world anymore. I’d be really surprised if he were suddenly to shy away from the limelight. You can’t start from scratch there, you have to start from below zero. I think it’ll be Nagelsmann. He’s got a good reputation, and he’s ready,” he said.
“Carrick isn’t a manager there anymore, but a caretaker until negotiations with the man who’s set to take over are concluded. They just can’t seem to sort it out.”
“And their ambitions aren’t just to catch a glimpse of Brighton & Hove Albion through binoculars. United used to be a predictable force. But they’ve got everything wrong since Sir Alex Ferguson. Just look at all the managers who’ve been there: Van Gaal, Mourinho – they’ve all been there. But since Ferguson, nobody’s managed to get it right.”
