AS PART of its ongoing support for Tunley Athletic FC, Specsavers Midsomer Norton was paid a visit by members of the club’s newly established Under 18s.
Four players, along with the team’s manager, Gary Peters, visited the locally owned and run store on the High Street where they chatted with colleagues from the store.
It’s thanks to Tunley’s success after being crowned Specsavers’ Best Worst Team for the 2024/25 season, and the continued support from local stores in Bath and Midsomer Norton, that they were able to add the new youth team at the start of the season.
“‘It was great to have members of Tunley’s Under 18s team come in to see us at the Midsomer Norton store,’ says Matthew Watt, store director at Specsavers Bath and Midsomer Norton.
“Grassroots sport plays such an important role in local communities and we know Tunley is no exception. The club is a central part of village life and, as a local business, we’re proud to be a supporter.
“Tunley is an ideal club for the Under 18s to hopefully naturally progress into adult football,’ adds manager, Gary. “They are a fantastic set of lads, many of who have been together for a very long time. We have had very positive start to the league season with three wins out of three and currently sit top of the league.
“‘Our aim for the season is to finish as high in the league as possible and to see as many boys continue to enjoy their football and to progress into the adult teams at Tunley. We’re extremely grateful for the support from Specsavers Bath and Midsomer Norton and we loved being able to go along to the store and meet some of the team.”
