Former Liverpool star Luis Suarez has reunited with the son of an ex-teammate of his from Anfield, sharing a heartwarming moment with the youngster as he discussed his time on Merseyside.
The striker, 39, is still playing soccer over in the United States, featuring for Inter Miami alongside stars such as Lionel Messi and Casemiro.
While the Uruguayan may be beyond the peak of his powers, he has still managed to find the back of the net regularly in MLS, scoring 16 goals and assisting seven in 28 appearances.
It remains to be seen exactly how much longer Suarez will want to play for in the twilight of his professional playing career, but the former Liverpool man has managed to take time to reflect on his three-year stay with the club.
The veteran forward joined Liverpool from Ajax back in 2011, making 133 appearances during his time on Merseyside, with 82 goals scored and 32 assists in an incredible run of form that made him one of the best strikers in the world at the time.
He then went on to join Barcelona in 2014, but that spell with the Reds lives long in the memory for many of those involved, seemingly including Suarez himself.
The striker was present at the Messi Cup, a youth tournament set up in Miami, where Suarez was a special guest meeting up and talking with some of the next generation. One of those included the son of former Liverpool right-back Glen Johnson, and the striker clearly recognized him.
The youngster, playing for Chelsea in the tournament, was seen speaking with Suarez, with the Inter Miami star saying: "I played with your dad, I've known you since you were little!"
The 39-year-old then asked for a picture alongside him, summing up a heartwarming moment for the pair, as the Uruguayan remembers his days at Anfield.
Suarez played alongside Johnson 93 times in his stay at Liverpool, with the pair being involved in four goals together, with one assisting the other to score.
The duo had a record of 48 wins, 21 draws, and 24 defeats in their time together at Liverpool, coming during a memorable time in the club's history on its rebuild towards success at the very top once again.
Despite everything that has happened in the time since, the fact that Suarez remembers playing alongside Johnson so fondly shows how he may well reflect on his time at Liverpool.
While it remains to be seen what happens for the striker in the remaining years of his career, his legacy is already written, with all eyes fixed on the next generation of superstars who will come through.
