Sheffield Wednesday have ended their manager search by appointing Dave Challinor as the club's new First Team Manager.
David Storch and the powers that be at Hillsborough opted to call time on Henrik Pedersen's time with Wednesday last weekend, following a 2-0 defeat to Docaster Rovers.
Matt Hamshaw was placed in temporary charge of the midweek clash with Cambridge United - a 1-1 draw - and he will also oversee this afternoon's game against Blackpool.
However, the job is now Challinor's, with Sheffield Wednesday confirming his arrival on Sunday morning.
Challinor has been out of work since leaving Stockport County on June 1st, but now returns to work in League One with Sheffield Wednesday.
The club's statement confirms that Challinor will be in attendance at Hillsborough on Sunday afternoon, watching on as the Owls host Blackpool in a 2pm kick-off.
Further details of Challinor's appointment will be made on Monday, and he will be formally introduced to supporters at the start of the week as well.
A deal for Challinor, 51, to take over from Pedersen was seemingly struck on Saturday evening.
The ex-Stockport manager was the clear favourite for the role since Pedersen was sacked, having previously been reported to be keen on the role despite eyeing a job in the Championship. Wednesday also had their hands tied with who they could appoint, with restrictions in place stopping them appointing somebody in work.
Challinor left Stockport in the summer after five successful years, which concluded with them finishing third in League One last season and losing the play-off final to Bolton Wanderers.

Challinor now takes over a Sheffield Wednesday side looking to begin their climb back through the Football League having dropped into League One.
Despite Pedersen's sacking, they sit ninth in League One heading into the game with Blackpool, having collected 19 points from 12 games. They also have a game in-hand on many of the clubs above them in the table.
Challinor's first game, officially in-charge of Wednesday, will come on Sunday 8th November against Oldham Athletic in the first round of the FA Cup.
