Not many Manchester United fans would have expected Michael Carrick to still be in the dugout for the Red Devils' trip to Stamford Bridge on Saturday. However, after meetings on Monday, Carrick has been handed time to steady the ship.
Carrick, however, hasn't been let off lightly with a United icon firing a warning to the current boss and former team-mates have been discussing potential replacements.
All eyes will be on west London on Saturday lunchtime, and another defeat might spell disaster for Carrick's future and United's season. Daily Star Sport has rounded up all the biggest stories from Old Trafford over the past 24 hours.

Roy Keane didn't mince his words when addressing Carrick's predicament and cautioned the manager that he must head to Chelsea on Saturday and deliver a result, reports the Mirror.
Speaking alongside Gary Neville on the Stick to Football podcast, he said: "When he got the job last year and Carrick went in there, we said from day one we didn't think he was probably good enough long term.
"It's alright managing a few games, all of a sudden, then you've got to manage the football club, preseason, expectations, recruitment.
"They were getting results last year and people were saying you've got to give him the job because of results. All of a sudden, they're not getting the results. 'Oh, it's the board, it's [Jason] Wilcox. It's somebody else'."
"Michael Carrick, his coaching staff, Jonny [Evans], [Jonathan] Woodgate, [Steve] Holland - they're lucky boys to be still involved at Manchester United.
"They have to grow a pair and start getting results on Saturday. Get a result at Chelsea."
Meanwhile, two of Keane's former Old Trafford colleagues, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt, have each cast their votes on three managers they believe would be suitable successors should Carrick be shown the door - and one of those names was the Irishman himself.
The United legends, appearing on the X page of their podcast, The Good, The Bad and The Football, were both presented with a list of 11 names, yet only managed to agree on three candidates.
Antonio Conte was the first name put forward and while Scholes gave his approval, Butt wasn't convinced.
Gareth Southgate came next and they were divided: Butt backed him, but Scholes wasn't sold on the former England boss. Unai Emery was third on the list and both agreed he'd be an excellent choice.
Of the remaining eight candidates, only Keane and Kieran McKenna got the thumbs up from both. On Keane, Butt remarked: "It would be fun" before Scholes confessed with a smile: "I don't see why not."
The duo disagreed on Fabian Hurzeler and Mauricio Pochettino, while both rejected Eddie Howe, Daniel Farke, Cesc Fabregas and Julian Nagelsmann for now.
