Former UFC middleweight Makhmud Muradov took part in one of the strangest combat sports attractions of the year on the 31st of October at G MMA 1 in Prague, Czech Republic, defeating six members of the Kotlar family in a back-to-back MMA exhibition that lasted just two minutes.

While the unusual concept generated plenty of curiosity online, the outcome was never really in doubt.

Muradov trains with team Ankos MMA and is the current Oktagon light heavyweight champion and interim Oktagon middleweight champion. He last fought in the Ultimate Fighting Championship on the 3rd of February 2024. The 30-8 Tajikistani has a scheduled MMA bout at Oktagon 100 with Krzysztof Jotko, in Prague, Czech Republic, on the 28th of December.

Despite the headline-grabbing premise, Muradov never found himself surrounded by all six opponents at once. The Kotlar family members took their turns individually, with the largest challenger leading off before the rest cycled in.

The entire exhibition was over in less than six minutes. Genuine action accounted for fewer than two of those minutes, and Muradov appeared to dial back his intensity throughout the unusual contest. In total, all six match-ups were completed in roughly 120 seconds.

If the event was designed to answer whether a trained UFC-calibre fighter could defeat six untrained opponents in succession, the answer arrived almost immediately.

The spectacle quickly sparked reactions across social media, with many observers comparing the mismatch to placing ordinary people against elite athletes in their own disciplines.

John Hawkins on X summed it up by comparing the scenario to NBA superstar Stephen Curry facing six average people in a three-point contest.

“This is like Steph Curry taking on six normal people in three-point shooting,” Hawkins wrote. “Can he win? Well, yeah. He's definitely going to win. Really easily.”

Another user, Dr. Format C: For Cortex, offered a more technical assessment, suggesting the challengers lacked virtually every fundamental aspect of combat sports, describing them as “breathing heavy bags, they were basically told: take the money of your life for a single night."

Those reactions highlight the biggest takeaway from the event. The six-on-one marketing angle sounded outrageous, but the reality served as another reminder of just how large the gap is between professional fighters and the average person.

For two minutes, the event was less a contest and more a demonstration of what years of elite MMA training looks like against opponents who never stood a realistic chance.
