Hull City v Ipswich Town - Our match predictions versus AI

Last week, the apparently unstoppable cyborg correctly predicted that Town would draw 1-1 with Nottingham Forest, as did closest rival Stu.

The rest of us backed a Town win, so ended up with nothing, again....

That means, after eight games, AI remains top of the table on 18 points 🤖

Stu's second with 12, then Ross and I are level on six, with former champion AJ dead last on three.

So, the cyborg still leads the way, and it appears only Watson has a chance of catching it - but there's still plenty of points to play for. That's the line 😂

Before we get to our predictions, remember the drill - we predict the result and first Town scorer.

The rules are:

Correct score: 3 pts

Correct result: 1 pt

Correct scorer: 2 pts (3 pts for a defender)

So the max score is 7 pts if we get the score bang on and back a defender to score first - and he does.

Here are our predictions!

Our predictions for Town's trip to Hull City (Image: Newsquest)

Cyborg: 2-1 Town, Flemming

"Hull are proving difficult to beat at home, but Ipswich have shown enough attacking quality under Gary O'Neil to make me think they can come away with three valuable points. Zian Flemming is my pick for first Town scorer, and I think Ipswich's attacking quality will make the difference in the second half."

Stu: 1-1, Emersonn

"A similar game stylistically to Forest last weekend, so I’ll go for the same scoreline - 1-1. "Emersonn is due a goal."

Me: 1-0 Town, Maeda

"This feels like it's going to be a bit of a war of attrition, and I think Town's greater quality will just edge it. I've gone Maeda as scorer just because this feels like a game for him."

Ross: 2-1 Town, Enciso

"A battle between two promoted sides. Hull have made a surprising start and will be a tough nut to crack at their place. I don’t think it will be a pretty game with not many chances but think Town’s quality will be enough to break through a solid Tigers defence."

AJ: 1-1, Fatawu

"Big game. Hull away is a clichéd tough place to go despite their recent form. They are yet to lose a home game this season and are really tricky to break down. I’m confident that Ipswich can get a result, but not sure I can back them to win it."
