A full rundown of the F1 results from qualifying at the 2026 Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos, with wet conditions having taken over at the circuit.
The session is under way at time of writing, with Q1 having now taken place following an 84-minute red flag interruption.
Five drivers went into qualifying knowing they would be taking some form of grid penalty, with George Russell (five places), Charles Leclerc (10 places) and Sergio Perez (30 places) combining with Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, with the latter knowing they will start the race from the back of the grid on Sunday.
Wet conditions took over at Interlagos after FP3, with particularly heavy showers having taken place in between sessions, leaving a queue of drivers to head out on track with rain falling at the start of Q1, which led to an almost immediate red flag.
Once the weather cleared enough for the drivers to get going again, a continuous train of cars lapped around Interlagos both to clear water, and find as much lap time as they could.
Track position was extremely important, then, as the drivers were constantly finding lap time – especially between those to set late laps in Q1.
A crash for Gabriel Bortoleto ended his session, though Franco Colapinto, Pierre Gasly, Lance Stroll, Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez were also out at the end of the Q1 session.
