While Lendeborg had the worst game of his young NBA career on Friday, the Warriors’ veterans, most notably Stephen Curry, had his back in the win over the Lakers. With Curry and Draymond Green sitting out Sunday’s game, the rookie returned the favor with a career-high 37 points. The Clippers really didn’t have an answer for Lendeborg defensively, as he scored from wherever he wanted to on the floor. Yaxel has been one of the best rookies in the NBA thus far, and that may not change anytime soon. The Warriors play three games next week, starting with the Suns on Monday.
