Injuries forced his hand on Wednesday night against Championship leaders Middlesbrough and the side he selected might have raised a few eyebrows as he switched to a 3-5-1-1 system, but Wrexham produced an outstanding performance and thoroughly deserved the 2-0 win.
Three in midfield worked - George Dobson, Ben Whiteman and George Thomason all did a brilliant job - and so did Lewis O'Brien playing as the number 10 behind lone striker Kieffer Moore.
O'Brien didn't stop running and he might need a breather after that display, with Ollie Rathbone an option after coming off the bench to score the score the second goal, but he's a fit lad and there's the international break after the Wolves clash so all the players will get a chance to recharge the batteries.
With the two week hiatus coming up, it would be no surprise to name the same side.
Parkinson asks a lot of his wing-backs and he frequently freshens up the team in that position so Danny Imray could be in contention but whoever plays, Wrexham have to put in a similar performance to go into the break on a high.
Wrexham predicted starting XI (3-5-1-1): Patterson; Cleworth, Worrall, Doyle; Kabore, Dobson, Whiteman, Thomason, Ekomie; O'Brien; Moore.
