The Cleveland Browns are looking to keep pace in the playoff race this weekend. They will have to beat the 2-5 New Orleans Saints to do that and hopefully gain some ground in the AFC North. This is a winnable game, and to expect the Browns to win is not a bold opinion.
If you want some sort of bold prediction, then we have those too. A forecast that goes beyond that of normal expectations, but also stays in the realm of reality. Here are my three bold predictions for the Browns against the Saints.
The Saints do not have a good run defense (ranked 29th in rushing yards allowed). I expect the Browns to lean heavily into their running game. This would be especially true if backup quarterback Shedeur Sanders is starting.
I expect that Concepcion will be very involved in the passing game. I also think the Browns will look for creative ways to get him touches considering how elusive and explosive he is. Don’t be surprised if he finds the end zone on an end-around or a backward pass type play.
I won’t go as far as to say that Quinshon Judkins will have his best day of the year because I don’t think he outdoes what he did versus the Titans. However, I don’t think this game will be way off from that in terms of production.
As stated before, the Saints have a bad run defense. It makes sense to take the ball out of the hands of a backup quarterback and run the ball early and often. Look for a 100-yard day and a score from Judkins.
There is no debate that the Browns defense has been their strength this year. They rank 13th in points allowed per game and 13th in total turnovers forced.
This pairs with the Browns' advantage, as the Saints are 6th in the NFL in most giveaways. I won’t go as far as to predict a turnover fiesta this weekend, but I will predict that Saints Quarterback Tyler Shough has at least two in this game.
