The Indianapolis Colts are now open to hearing trade proposals for Jonathan Taylor, reversing their earlier stance on retaining the star running back, following a week that saw two other prominent players depart.

The Colts dealt what many consider the league's top offensive guard to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for third- and fifth-round draft selections, before allowing DeForest Buckner to rejoin his former squad, the San Francisco 49ers, for a fourth-round pick.

With Indianapolis sitting at 2-5 this season, the trades have sparked speculation about a potential rebuild, prompting questions about retaining Taylor - a 27-year-old running back carrying a substantial contract. Given his advancing age for the position, Taylor may have little interest in enduring a rebuilding phase with the franchise, and he faced inquiries on the matter this week.

According to reports, the Colts are now fielding trade interest for Taylor, with a second-round selection reportedly their desired compensation. Discussions are described as 'ongoing'.

Addressing trade speculation, Taylor said, "I haven't heard anything, and I can't control that. Obviously, you guys know that I'm always proud to wear the horseshoe, proud to be here."

Responding to rebuild questions, Taylor countered, "You think we're rebuilding? We're going out there trying to win. No one goes out there to wave the white flag and surrender. We are going out to compete and get a win."

The Colts parted ways with arguably their two most valuable players, Nelson and Buckner, leaving Taylor taken aback by the transactions.

He commented, "It was all speculation until stuff started happening. Those guys are the gold standard of the NFL. And obviously the business side of things, that's where it sucks at.

"I wish some way, somehow, I could have done more, because I wanted to win for those guys. We wanted to get it done here with those guys."

Nelson's new team, the Seahawks, are reportedly among the franchises pursuing Taylor, as they've faced difficulties replacing Kenneth Walker following his departure to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Green Bay Packers have also emerged as potential suitors for Taylor, particularly as the organization may lose Josh Jacobs amid fresh allegations surfacing against him.

Additional teams rumored to be exploring a Taylor trade include the Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, and Denver Broncos.
