The UFC has been helping to guide Bella Mir’s career step-by-step for some time.
In August, Mir suffered her first loss in the biggest upset to ever take place on Dana White’s Contender Series.
It was certainly no secret that the young prospect already has a strong relationship with the promotion, with Dana White admitting to being biased about Mir.
She recently revealed when discussing her next steps that the UFC have had a say in what she does for some time.
The daughter of legend Frank Mir missed out on receiving a contract from Dana White in her first attempt.
Many believe that Bella Mir will still achieve great things in MMA despite suffering the first loss of her professional career several months ago.
In a recent interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, the 23-year-old laid out her plans for the future.
Mir is hoping to fight in January and said that she has spoken to the UFC about her competing on Tuff-N-Uff in Las Vegas due to this being easy for the promotion’s bosses to attend.
She went on to explain that while she does have a say in what she does next, she can’t fully decide by herself due already being under UFC contract.
“Oh no, they’re my bosses pretty much,” Mir said.
The bantamweight fighter added that this has been the case regarding her MMA career since before she competed on Dana White’s Contender Series.
“I definitely like ask what I’m supposed to be doing but then they’re also like that making sure that I have some kind of, I don’t want to say say, they’re not just controlling parents.”
With plans to fight in January, Bella Mir is hoping that fans will be seeing a lot of her in 2027.
The 23-year-old is striving to at least double her current amount of pro fights by competing four or five times before the next season of Dana White’s Contender Series.
It’s inevitable that Mir will get another shot on the show in the near future if she gets results and she believes she’s smart enough with her training to fit all this activity in.
