Arsenal secured a creditable draw in Munich on Wednesday night, ensuring that Mikel Arteta’s side maintained their unbeaten start to their Champions League campaign.
Eberechi Eze put the away side into the lead after a delightful pass from Martin Odegaard before the Gunners were quickly pegged back through an Alphonso Davies equaliser.
A handball from Jurrien Timber allowed Harry Kane to put Bayern into the lead on the hour mark, but a well-worked team goal led to Declan Rice securing a point for the visitors.

RB – Jurrien Timber – 5/10 – it wasn’t the best of evenings for the Dutchman, who was beaten for pace by Davies for the equaliser, before conceding the penalty.
CB – Ezri Konsa – 6/10 – the defender struggled in the first half, in particular, but he did make several blocks and improved as the match went on.
CB – Gabriel – 8/10 – made countless blocks and interventions to ensure that Bayern didn’t run away with the game.
LB – Riccardo Calafiori – 7/10 – had a couple of chances from set pieces, but he was caught up the pitch early on for Serge Gnabry’s shot that forced Raya into a good save.
In open play, he didn’t have the legs to keep up with Bayern’s counter-attack, leading to manager Mikel Arteta replacing him with Myles Lewis-Skelly.
CM – Declan Rice – 9/10 – a top-drawer performance from the midfielder, who dictated play in the middle of the park, provided cover defensively when needed, delivered dangerous set pieces, as well as bagging the equaliser.
AM – Martin Odegaard – 8/10 – the captain created the opener with a superb pass, and his corner delivery was outstanding.
CF – Kai Havertz – 5/10 – the German was booked for an early challenge, and things didn’t get much better for him from there.
Havertz did his best work out of possession, and the one chance that came his way was blocked from close range.
LW – Noni Madueke – 6/10 – worked hard, but his quality in possession was lacking.
Eze took his goal superbly on his weaker foot, and he was strong in possession all evening.
Viktor Gyokeres – 7/10 – the striker’s hold-up play and neat pass led to Rice’s equaliser. A key contributor off the bench.
Myles Lewis-Skelly – 7/10 – gave Arsenal some stability in midfield as the Gunners looked to get back on level terms.
Mikel Merino – 6/10 – had a chance to win it in stoppage time, but his header was blocked.
