Finn Balor WWE push pitched after ‘Demon’ return: Mark Henry predicts popular character’s comeback will lead to Undisputed WWE Title opportunity
Mark Henry has predicted that the return of Finn Balor’s “Demon” persona will lead him back into contention for the Undisputed WWE Championship. The October 30 episode of SmackDown saw fans treated to the first appearance of Balor’s alter-ego since WrestleMania 42, when he emerged as the latest “experiment” from Danhausen, and saved the “Very Nice, Very Evil” star from an attack at the hands of GUNTHER. Advertisement The Demon’s return appears to set up a match between GUNTHER and Balor – something that may very well be set for Crown Jewel on November 7 – but beyond that show, could Balor’s darker side re-emerging also propel him back up the card? Speaking on Busted Open After Dark, Mark Henry said he saw “championship pedigree” in Balor, and predicted that the return of The Demon will see him in the mix for Sami Zayn’s Undisputed WWE Title: Henry said: “I saw championship pedigree with Finn Balor, because he’s been a world champion before, he never lost it. He never lost it, he had to surrender it due to injury, and it’s very rare that you get another shot… Advertisement “Everybody is talking about Trick Williams and Roman Reigns. Or Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns. Or Cody Rhodes and Randy. In the next six months you’re going to find The Demon is going to be involved in this. As much as you see Punk in there, as much as you see Kevin Owens and GUNTHER and all these wonderful guys that are on this brand. The Demon is going to be mixed in there.” Not only does Henry see a main event push coming Balor’s way as The Demon, but he thinks that Danhausen could serve as his “Paul Heyman”: “If Danhausen is going to be a part of this, then Danhausen can be the Paul Heyman for The Demon. The Demon will appear. The Demon don’t have to cut promos. “‘Listen, Danhausen please, when are we going to be able to speak to The Demon? The Demon doesn’t want to talk to you. The Demon talks to me and then I tell you what The Demon says.’” Advertisement If you use this transcription or any portion of it please credit WrestleTalk.com and link to this page. WWE has not yet announced Balor vs. GUNTHER for Crown Jewel, however, promotional material for the match was spotted in Riyadh ahead of next Saturday’s event. Balor was also pulled from a scheduled appearance at a Zuffa Boxing show in London on the same night as the PLE, further suggesting that WWE may have plans for the Irishman at the event.
